Grosse Pointe City is a lovely community which
incorporates about one square mile and has a population,
according to the 2010 Census, of 5,421. Bordered on the west
by Grosse Pointe Park, the east by Grosse Pointe Farms, the
south by Lake St. Clair and the north by the City of
Detroit, Grosse Pointe City is a quiet suburb. The City, as
it is called by its residents, offers a lively shopping
area, The Village, which is frequented by strollers and
shoppers. The City has its own park for its residents, Neff
Park. There, residents enjoy picnicking, swimming in the new
pool or docking in the redesigned harbor. Other attractions
in The City include The Neighborhood Club, a facility that
is about to undergo a total transformation with the
construction of a brand new facility in conjunction with
Beaumont Hospital of Grosse Pointe. Beaumont Hospital is
also located within the City of Grosse Pointe. The City
shares the Grosse Pointe Public School System with the four
other Pointes but Maire Elementary School is the only public
school located within its border. Grosse Pointe Unitarian
Church provides a place for its church across from the
Grosse Pointe Police, Fire and City offices, as well as
